Simwenge Lodge set along the banks of the Zambezi River is surrounded by what can only be described as stunning natural Zambezi bush, a must-visit for all lovers of the river and its adventures. This stunning lodge is in an area often forgotten by most Zimbabweans and a hidden secret kept by those lucky enough to know and frequent the decker area (yes we are looking at you Bulawayo peeps).
The Lodge with its small game area has resident antelope, Zebra, warthogs, smaller game and is as peaceful as the day it was found. The lodge boasts views over the river, an infinity pool, a stunning central area, amazing chefs, tented and newly built rooms all with views of the river and fantastic staff. In total, the lodge can accommodate up to 12 comfortably.
Activities range from tiger fishing, game drives at Sidinda Safari Area
, walks, river cruises, cultural tours, and pretty much all you could want from a river trip.
The gardens and lush bush around the lodge make relaxing by the pool very easy to do you would be forgiven if that's all you did on your visit. If Adventure is your thing then the 3 boats and game vehicles are always available with trusty guides to take you wherever your heart desires. We recommend a visit to the Sidinda Safari Area. If you’re a fitness freak and you need to run and get out the hills and various roads around the lodge are a great escape to get lost in.
The lodge is also a hot spot for tiger fish so for all avid fishermen and women don't miss this little patch of heaven. The best way to get there from Harare is to fly into the HAC air strip however a road trip is never out of the question.
A high recommend on the Wild Goat list.
